Background Swirl Tutorial by DoraYou will need EyeCandy (I used v 3.01) (Download Trial version here) Note: The demo does not allow the swirl effect to be used. If you must use the demo version, use the wave effect in PaintShopPro, instead. By playing with the settings, you can achieve a similar effect. Texturizer (opt. -- this is an Adobe plug-in) FM Tile Tools (Download Demo) |

1. Choose the graphic to use for your stat; Shift+D to copy; close the original and resize the copy until you have it 300 height (very important). 2. Shift+D to copy again and only work on 1 copy. Be sure to choose the foreground and background colors. 3. Click image/blur/Gaussian Blur/15.00 (this is the setting I used) and click okay. 4. Click image/plugins/EyeCandy/Swirl; mine was set to these settings: Whirlpool: 100px; Smear Length: 15; Twist: 45; Streak: 50 and both the Wrap & Smooth were selected; now click the check in right top corner. 5. Now go to image/plugins/FM Tile Tools/Seamless Tile and just click apply. 6. Again, click image/plugins/FM Tile Tools/Seamless Tile and make sure you put a check in vertical and click apply. 7. Next, open a new image 1024x300; flood fill with this pattern; add a new layer and flood that layer with the light color you chose from the graphic; go to the layer pallette and choose the first layer and change the 2nd layer transparency to about 50 (or a color you like the background to be); click layers/merge/merge all flattened; go to image/plugins/FM Tile Tools/Seamless Tiles and make sure Vertical is checked again and click apply. 8. Click the floodfill image (should be image 1) and Save As a .psd file on your desktop. You can now close this image. 9. Click image/plugins/Texture/Texturizer/Load Texture from the dropdown menu and select the image you saved on your desktop; I left the Scale alone and just moved the Relief up to about 25 and clicked apply. You can use your own preference here on how much texture you want the background to be. 10. Sign your background and you are all through!!!!
